In an old power station in Dordrecht, the home of OMSK, we researched energy in all its forms. Those blossomed into discussions of melting polar ice caps, imaginings of apocalyptic futures, the romantic desires for a more grounded life, and the addictive pleasures of comfortability.
All these questions were reduced to one essential movement: Cycling.
In Schwalbe performs on their own, we power a lamp that lights our performance until we’re no longer able to keep it going. Sounds of the engine; like a symphony, as one by one we step off the bikes to watch from the side, as those that remain continue to power the ever dying light.
Schwalbe performs on their own is a(n almost entirely) CO2 neutral performance.
All materials used in the performance are second hand. The flyers were hand-printed on old paper, the heating during the performance is turned off, and the lights are self-generated.
